Saw a dude in the locker room Saturday afternoon, sitting on the bench, eating a big bag of potato chips

They weren't even good potato chips. Like, kettle cooked, salt & vinegar, BBQ, Old Bay or anything interesting ... just plain ol' greasy Lays potato chips

He had pants on, thank goodness

lol, this reminds me I need to get flip flops, thanks to little kids getting fed snacks in the locker room -- which of course means crackers, raisins, etc all over the floor.

Saw a dude in the weight room last week wearing a neon/safety green hat, jacket, shirt, shorts and shoes

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I figured he ran over to do his weights [it was kinda cloudy & rainy, so day-glo would have been a wise outfit decision], then was going to run home

Most I see with those tattoos aren’t fast.

To be honest, I can never tell if they are fast [or were fast, once] as I have never seen one moving at "race pace"

Usually, they're just wandering around the supermarket or liquor store, or strolling on the beach/boardwalk

That's a good point. What's with teens that their so weirded out being naked in the locker room? At the pool, I routinely see youngsters go into a bathroom stall in order to get in/out of their bathing suit.

I think that if you grew up in a time when anything aboit you or anything you have ever done that is remotely embarrassing has been instantly shared, tweeted, or Instagramed to everyone you know, you would probably be hesitant to expose yourself in any way to others.

For all the grief we give kids coming up today, they have a lot more to contend with in this regard then we did. If you were caught hooking up with the ugly chick at a highschool party, it became a joke amongst your friends. Now it's online with 2 million views before your blowjob is even finished.

That's a disturbing metaphor

I'm not saying it's inaccurate, just disturbing

Lately, the music feed over the PA at the gym has been SiriusXM's "Pop Rocks"

https://www.siriusxm.com/PopRocks

Quote:
Rock songs from the ’90s and 2000s that became big pop hits.

Artists You'll Hear
The Killers, Coldplay, Sheryl Crow, Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, No Doubt, Dave Matthews Band, Weezer, Green Day

D'Wife & I were both in the weights area [I was half-watching the Russia/Croatia match, knowing at although they were behind 2-1, Russia would eventually tie, then win on the shootout, because it was all fixed]. She came over to tell me something so we both took our headphones out

In mid-sentence, she said "Oh I like this song" She's kinda like Dory from Finding Nemo in that way

I listened for a second and identified the tune as

"This is one of his best songs, I think" she continued

I wasn't familiar with any solo career by Dave Pimer, and in the moment, I couldn't even think of another Soul Asylum tune

"Well, it's really a 'them'" I corrected

"Yeah, yeah yeah, I know" D'Wife gruffed, "Why do you always have to correct me?"

As I was trying to respond tactfully, she added the missing piece of the "Name that Tune" puzzle

"Anyway, other than 'Freefallin' ..."

I had to stop her right there

"Wait, wait, wait!!!" the brakes skidded "You think this is ... Tom Petty?"

"It's not?"

"It's Soul Asylum. 1990-something. '92, maybe?"

"Ohhhhhh," I could see her flipping back to some old MTV memory, and realizing, 'Yep. He's right. As always'

"Well, fuck you, Mr. Jeopardy!"

My gym has a pandora playlist that is about that caliber. It's just hard getting into the mood when Dave Mathews is playing. They did make the mistake of using a chromecast to run the speakers and leaving it open on the gym wifi. We had system of a down playing for two whole songs before some old person on an elliptical complained and had it shut off

Any mood, for that matter

On another note, I find it kinda disrespectful of me to have "Whole Lotta Rosie" or "Fat Bottomed Girls" playing in my headphones when there are heavier women nearby

IDK about that. The guy in your picture looks like he could be his brother or at least some sort of close descendant of Drew Carey

That's awsome. "Milo Goes To College" is one of the greatest punk records ever and THE greatest album cover of all time.
Tell him "Hi" from a fan in Louisiana.

And I told you that a friend of mine from Kickrunners/30s worked with him at DuPont before there department was dissolved

I mean, spun off or broken out, not actually "dissolved," like with solvent or something
