The kids all looked good last night: McAvoy with a goal/assist, DeBrusk with a goal/assist, Bjork with an assist. Nice opening night!

They looked better because we looked like crap. Still pissed about the way they did the expansion draft so Vegas could take my James Neal. And having Ryan Ellis out until at least January isn't going to help us either. Can't wait until our home opener on Tuesday night.

Why three years?

There is no reason to believe that they can't win this year.

Been hearing that out of Toronto since the 90's!

I haven't followed hockey lately but it would be cool to see Toronto back in the mix.

Watch them play.

Matthews and Nylander together are outstanding. Three scoring lines with tons of depth players waiting to fill in for injuries in the minors. The only problem we would have is if Andersen got hurt.

Defense is adequate.

They are just as capable to win the cup as any other team in the NHL right now.

And that's all that's holding us back, I love your enthusiasm but even with the young guns until we shore up the D I don't think we have a chance, not yet but it will come.

You have no chance Monday, that's for sure.

ITS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!!!

Might be on a flight but never fear I'll be talking shit as soon as I can

Buds just shored up their back up goalie. Picked up Calvin Pickard from Vegas.

Late to the debate, but had to throw my opinion in.

I am not a Leafs fan. Never have been, never will be. I think the Leafs could win the Cup this year. I don't think they are the favourite, but I think with their depth up front, their D being better than most people give them credit for, now having a solid backup behind a more than decent goalie, and having the best coach / motivator in hockey, they definitely stand a chance.

There’s always room for more on the bandwagon.

Was that another rule change this year? They are now awarding the Cup after one game?

I do think that the Hawks will be top three in the West this year, and are also a legit contender for the Cup. I think bringing Saad back was one of the most underrated moves of the offseason, and unlike BleP, I think Toews is still one of the absolute best two way players in the league, and is easily one of the best leaders in the league.

I know the Leafs will be eliminated after Monday's game.

What happened to Toews leadership last year in the playoffs? Did he forget how to leader? Maybe he needs to go back to leadership school.

Take that leadership garbage to the curb where it belongs. It means as much as ‘he has grit’.
