Actually no, I come from a family of farmers and fishers from Nova Scotia and the Magdalen Islands, also my best friend was a crop duster who's family owned a working farm with a runway On the farm in Nova Scotia I milked a cow when I was 14, they even had their own milk separator so cool milking the cow separating the cream and drinking real fresh milk, so good! On my Bf's farm I helped every summer, can't count how many bales of hay I've tossed but not a 1000 in a evening...lol Hard work but would do it again in a heart beat! Good times!

But I'm waving the BS flag on anyone who says they've "thrown a thousand bales of hay in an evening". (Unless you simply moved them a few inches horizontally.) Tossing a few hundred bales onto a wagon or moving them around a hay loft was a real workout.

And your point is.....OK, I get it. You grew up on a farm. I didn't, but do you really thing we have no other farm people on the LR?

Never milked a cow, but baled plenty of hay and straw. After we got our crops in I would fill up the mows of the neighbor who was a dairy farmer. Hot work. He was baling all summer long. Of course now not many use those little 60-100 lb bales. Our bales were 100, neighbor had a kicker so there were only about 60.

Lots of cow milkers... I'm impressed. I had to milk for the first time in nearly 20 years after my Dad fell off a ladder and busted up 9 ribs falling on to an irrigation pump last year. Since then I've been trying to convince my Dad to sell his herd and quota (for something like $3M) and just make hay.

My parents farm is still very old school (but no debt) and they use lots of square bales. When I was in high school in the thick of first crop, we'd do 10-12 wagons of 100-140 bales a night.. My job in unloading was to unload the wagons onto an elevator. Wagons I was loading earlier in the day.

No, my point is you're an entitled brat who "cracks" peoples backs 2.5 days a week for a living. This is coming from a guy with chronic back pain bad enough that he's selling all of his bikes.

Of course progressivism is easy when the money comes easy, but when you have to sweat, bleed, and cry for it... it's much harder.
