So fill us in. I read the article and they did not seem to provide anything conclusive or even a strong theory.

So where did you pick up the link about an explosion?

And more interesting. It was no explosion. Again, get your facts straight. It is not that hard.

Well now you just sound silly. Did you read the article he provided? It mentions an explosion in Malmo right in the title and then says that the explosion occurred outside the city at roughly 9pm. It was a separate event from the shooting, and may or may not have been connected. If you read the full article, you'll see reference to it.

If you're going to let Duffy push your buttons, then you can't make yourself look dumb by not having the facts straight.

If there was an explosion in Sweden that event should be all over Swedish media.
I read Swedish and no explosion is mention.

Maybe the right thing to do is to check you sources and then check with other sources.
An explosion in any part of Scandinavia would have gather a lot of media in Scandinavia and also in Europe.

Feel free to check SVT http://www.svt.se/nyheter/ or BBC.com

If you simply Google "explosion, Malmo" you'll find numerous reports. If you had just read the article he posted, you would have seen the report, and you wouldn't have been asking him where he got it from.

Whether the reports are accurate or not is a separate question, but if you're going to jump in here and accuse people of not having a clue, getting one yourself would be a good place to start.

Weird stuff re: internets. I click on the link and this is the headline:

Quote:
One dead and three injured in Malmo shooting as bomb found outside primary school
ONE person has died and three others have been injured following a gun attack in Malmo just hours after a bomb was found outside a primary school.
And the article only mentions finding an unexploded bomb. No mention of explosion in article that comes up when I click on duffy's link. Copied here.

What is going on??

The article has this line - "An explosion was then heard at Helenholm, a suburb of Malmo, at around 9pm local time, but this is now understood to have caused by fireworks."

The original did not have the clarification about fireworks. The article has since been updated. As I mentioned earlier, the accuracy of the reports is always something to continue to look into, but there really wasn't any reason for Halvard to come storming in asking people where the explosion idea came from or telling us there was no such thing because he would have heard of it.

Other news venues reported:

"The shooting came two hours before reports began circulating of an explosion in Heleneholm, a kilometre away from the scene of the shooting, The Express reported."

"The Swedish city of Malmo was on alert tonight after an explosion rocked one of its suburbs."

This is not difficult.
If you want the best information go to reliable sources.
Any explosion in Sweden would have gotten a lot of coverage in Swedish media.
Also it is more important for Swedish media to be correct than some website in another country.

I checked several Swedish sources and non of them matched the link given by the first post.

Conclusion: no explosion in Malmo yesterday

Ok. But be patient with Duffy and slowguy as fireworks combined with drive-by shootings in Sweden are exciting news to folks in Southern California. They get drive-byes daily, but fireworks are rare as they are banned because of the drought.

It really isn't difficult. Don't be an ass.

Most of us here in the US don't speak Swedish, and are not likely to be familiar with Swedish news sites. You didn't come in and tell us that the reports mentioned were probably incorrect. You came in and made it sound like the explosion was completely made up, and that it wasn't even in the article, because you clearly didn't read what was posted. This, because you're in too big a hurry to make yourself sound smarter than Duffy, that you couldn't be bothered to actually look into it.

Apparently, Sweden's Expressen reported the same thing I showed you in multiple other outlets. All of them have now been updated.

"Sweden’s Expressen newspaper reported that a loud noise was heard about two hours after the shooting in the Malmo’s southern district of Helenholm, located about 1 kilometer from the scene of the shooting. Police have been deployed to the scene of the alleged explosion but have found nothing so far, the paper reports, adding that it is unclear if there is any connection between the two incidents."

I don't live in Southern California, and I can't control what the news reports. If it makes you and Halvard feel better about yourselves by denying what was actually reported in the first place, that says more about you than about me or Duffy.
