I'd heard of this Tide pod challenge several days ago. To me, it's of a piece with that 'choke yourself out' fad young people were engaging in a few years ago.

Let me clarify. I don't doubt it's going on, I just don't believe that it's prevalent enough to warrant any kind of news story. BB gun wars now... everyone my age knew people that did that. My dad told me that If I every aimed mine at anyone I would lose it forever. That was enough to keep me out of it.

i dunno. people having been calling young people 'stupider these days' for as long as there have been young people.
do a few eat tide pods? possibly.
but then if fewer of them go out drunk driving (which was a big passtime when i was in highschool) i'd say on balance they're smarter these days, not stupider.

We did that when I was a kid, 45 years ago. A few deep breaths then have someone squeeze your chest till you pass out.
