No keep moving. Deep water running first few days. Then no run over 45mins with day between.

have you run marathons before? if so, how did you feel afterwards?
i emerge too sore to even consider it. YMMV.

Yes I have run 1 open marathon in houston this year (3:18) and 1 IM marathon (4:04). I was very sore for a few days after the open marathon (more so than the IM marathon) but it subsided after that. I'll try to treat it as more of a training run rather than trying for a PR. The idea of aqua jogging the week after sounds good.

I have done lots of things like back-to-back Ironman etc. I always try to walk and swim as much as possible. Between my last Ironman Wisconsin and Ironman Chattanooga races, I only swam for the first 3 days post Wisconsin. I did 3 swims a day (Mon, Tues, and Wed) 1000 yard each OWS swims in 60 degree water without a wetsuit. The purpose of non-wetsuit was to get my core temp down.

I ran a half in February, Boston in April then another marathon five weeks later to re qualify for 2018 Boston which I did then went and raced IMMT 70.3 2.5 weeks later and had a great race. Even got a roll down for worlds. I didnt stop running but I did shorten the distances of the runs and kept some of the intensity but in small chunks.
