Mont Tremblant is the best race and training venue I've ever been too; including Kona. However, this year I hated the start.
My wave had to start 56 minutes back of the pros behind some of the slower waves. This was no problem for me in the swim, but the bike was awful. I am guessing I had to pass more than 2000 people while on the bike and as I averaged close to 40kph it was just plain dangerous going by people averaging 25 or slower and riding 4 wide on narrow roads.
Also, there was no age group markings so the idea of being in a race was completely missing from the event. I finished third in my ag, and missed out on first. I had a miserable run and likely couldn't have run faster but it would be nice to at least have a shot at knowing where I was. We were all in the same boat but it just made for a miserable experience dodging people for 2.5 hours.
I would suggest an elite age group wave or a wave that you have to pre-qualify for with a previous result. It would be nice to get back to racing at AG ironman events.
Mont Tremblant support and venue was still amazing.

Ps. Better tops on the water being handed out would be nice also.
"the trick is to keep losing weight until your friends and family ask you if you've been sick. then you know you're within 10 pounds. if they start whispering to each other, wondering if you've got cancer or aids, you're within 5. when they actually do an intervention, you're at race weight." - Slowman
