But what are we talking about today? Yemen.

Yup.

At least he met with the family of the SEAL killed in this operation.

Trump has said that people are too politically correct. So now that he's in politics, he doesn't have to be correct.

Trump's Benghazi? Right. Service men have died in missions for nearly every president.

I'd be interested to know which officials said that, since I'm pretty sure that it's the military's job to make sure an operation that they take to the president for approval should have had those things. Not sure I lay the blame on Trump for this; I would place the blame squarely on the HQ responsible for green lighting the operation to take to the President in the first place.

I agree. The operation was planned under the Obama administration but wasn't executed because they were waiting for a moon-less night. Trump's team approved it a few days after inauguration but the details were in place.

It appears to be a case of a lot of things going wrong. The main problem is that the Al Qaeda fighters protecting the compound were tipped off that the military was coming, that is being investigated. Then, one of the Osprey's had a hard landing injuring 3 Seals and forcing the military to destroy the helicopter. The other main problem was that some women took up arms and engaged the Seals in a fight. Al Qaeda has never used women before and it caught them off guard.

I don't think anyone can blame Trump, or Obama for that matter. There were just a series of things that went wrong.

More #fakenews from the Left. Seems to be a daily occurrence. If you knew how the military worked you would clearly understand just how fake this "anonymous report" is. But if it makes you feel better today, and tomorrow, the next day, and year from now when Trump is still President feel free to continue reading more fake news.

next the oldanddumb crowd will be explaining how Trump's operation killed innocent women and children in the process after the "Trump sent them in unprepared" narrative gains no traction.

Point is these women took up arms in the battle.

I don't have a program so I don't know who is considered real news vs. who is fake news (other than CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, and any site that judiciously uses ALLCAPS or !!!!! cuz they really, really really mean it.....)

The quote was from Reuters. Serious question are they fake or real?

The quote was from Reuters. Serious question are they fake or real?

It has nothing to do with if the source is in capitals or their political slant. If there is an article that goes against your worldview, it is fake news. If not, it is a very reliable and non-biased source.

Very unfair. Obama was given a year or two to learn counterterrorism ops and become an expert in intelligence gathering, operation planning, and directing ops. I'm sure that in a year or two Trump will be just as good at planning and directing ops as Obama was.

Yes SEAL Team 6 went in unprepared with no assets. That's how they roll since the military genius Obama left office. Enjoy your circle jerk.

This is just day two of the liberal left smear campaign and you are too ideologically blind to even recognize it.

Don't forget all of the training Obama had before HALOing in solo in only a loin cloth with. Kbar between his teeth that was used to carve out Osamas heart. He was a tactical genius

Hell he made have had a hand in the NBC sourceless hit piece the day after the raid where they tossed in a picture of a little girl and complete review of the raid by none other than a terrorists FIL. Groundbreaking journalism right there.

But that isn't really a fact. Truth is the truth but most people read headlines and lack the ability to spot creative writing used to slant a story or even worse(and more common these days) simply lie. The journalists of today have little honor.

Serious answer Chris, I think most of those in the media have lost there way and are more concerned about revenue and keeping their name in the news rather than being concerned with what is factual and what is flawed. Both sides will jump on a headline to boast or whine, we are definitely living in interesting times.

Evidently Reuters is now fake news. If they were a real news organization they'd report who recommended the operation to Trump and/or who failed in the intelligence and planning. Isn't that the important thing for us to know?

Quote:
U.S. military officials revealed Wednesday that President Trump’s first covert counterterrorism operation was carried out without sufficient intelligence, ground support or adequate backup preparations, according to reports.

Real news would have written:

US military officials revealed the General X recommended the first covert counter terrorism operation approved by President Trump without having received sufficient intelligence, ground support or adequate backup preparations.

In other words, if the allegation is true, then heads in the military should be rolling.

Most folks are smart enough to know if someone within the military bungled it, someone will hear "you're fired."

yeah, not quite the same.
-
"The sources told Fox that the intelligence haul from the compound is "almost as good as Abbottabad," a reference to the 2011 raid that killed Usama bin Laden. One source described the information as a "treasure trove."
Navy SEALs managed to grab a laptop, about 10 cell phones, thumb drives, documents, and "a couple bags full" of material, according to officials with knowledge of the debriefing. "
-

“It was a hard target. They made a tough call on the ground and went in the hard way. This was not a stand-off operation,” a senior military source told Fox News. “If they had not gone in on the target, they might not have lost anyone, but they also might not have gathered what they did from the compound.”
Intelligence analysts are said to be “still sifting” through all of the material collected, which included computer hard drives.
“Only way to judge the mission’s success will be the final analysis” of the materials gathered, a source said.

This piece from Fox seems pretty straight; covering the intel gained and bad guys killed, as well as costs, our dead (Ryan Owens) and injured SEALs, and civilians, including kids.

Nobody's apologizing for Trump in this thread because there is nothing apologize for. Blaming the President for the outcome of the Yemen op is idiotic.
