IMAZ Recovery: How do you feel?
Well, It's two weeks post IM AZ. I am doing OK. Have gained approx 5lbs. I have not done a serious workout since but alot of walking with the dog and two small runs and an hour Mountain bike ride. My first run this past Tuesday was awful (sore legs, calf cramps, tired) but Thursday's 5 miler went better than expected. It is also still more difficult to wake up in the mornings post IM than pre. I really can't wait till I can seriously start training again, I miss it.

Going for a swim now.

How is your recovery going?

Like you, I've gained five pounds, but I feel really good. I feel completely recovered; both mentally and physically.
Tuesday I start training again - can't wait.

Recovery is going good. Will start to pick it up this week. Its time to get ready for a June half IM!

Remember not to rush your recovery. It can take up to 6 weeks to fully recover.

I have been partying more than I can handle, it's out of my system now! Ran twice and that's it. Back on a routine next week-end. I also gained weight but all ok with it!

I'm feeling pretty good. A couple of extra pounds, but that's okay since my coach wants me to put a few on. It seems I'm a bit in the minority here, but I did my first workout (slow 3 mile run) on the tuesday after the race. My race didn't go so well (had the flu), so I wasn't as beat up physically as I could have been. I've now done two very light weeks (a few 3-4 mile runs, a few 25 mile trainer rides, a few <2000yd swims), and I'm about to go out for my longest run since the race, 8 miles. I'm feeling very good and antsy to get back into training. Tomorrow is my first day since the race with multiple workouts (swim+30 mile bike). This coming week has several multi-workout days and a 12 mile run at the end of the week, then I'll start more volume next week. I can't wait! IMLP is 13 short weeks away!

Feeling really good - probably did a little too much last weekend - ran about 15 miles over 3 days, did nothing this weekend at all (it was raining, I was bored and un-motivated, and figured it would be good for me to do nothing for a weekend...) back to training tomorrow - easing into IM LP training...

Overall, recovery is going well - legs actually feel pretty fresh considering the couple runs I did last weekend and this AM. I'd be happy with only 5 pounds, though; I was 174 race morning (4-9) and was 187 this AM. 13 lbs in 14 days may be a personal record. I start training again tomorrow (thank goodness.)

Screw homestay's, all you need is that set of wheels. You could get sponsorship just for showing up in something like that.

Thought I was doing just fine until I tried an easy run for 45 mins. in some heat today...

Well now... I definately felt a bit less cocky about my recovery after THAT "easy" run. Got it done... but, that was about all I did... legs were surprisingly still flat.

Back to the pool and easy bike spins for a little while longer.

"legs actually feel pretty fresh considering the couple runs I did last weekend and this AM"

couple of runs????? To clarify for everyone, those runs were the Boston marathon and the La Jolla Half marathon.

As for me... as a result of all the walking I did in Tempe, I'm pretty much recovered. After getting back to training last week, I broke into the top 15 at the Camp Pendleton duathlon. All that Ironman training is finally paying off. =p

Geez, you try to be humble. . . :)

To clarify Jeromy's statement, however, not only did he "break into the top 15", but he won his division at the Devil Dog Du.
