I thought this was about overcoming some kind of VD, like Deadly VD or something more clever.

I enjoyed that movie. I think I saw someone I can outswim over any distance. I like these guys. I like their bikes. I like the Cervelo story. I may find myself rooting for a TDF win.

I think the DVD is 6-12 months away but when it becomes available, we'll see if we can get it for our site.

That takes a hell of a long time to load even with broadband, but it is worth looking at, very inspirational. And crazy statistic coming from that is 6.7 watts per kilo That's impressive, no, that's scary! Those boys should be wearing helmets, though.

Let's hope it is nearer 6 months than the year before it arrives, but as it's now part of the bike industry, eh?

I read an article which said the film may be shown later in the year by the BBC in the UK as they put up a fair share of the money for it

No it never came out because Tyler was caught in blood doping. The name of the IMAX movie is 'Brain Power'. They still needed to make some shots with team CSC, but CSC didn't want to work on the movie anymore after Tyler was caught. Don't know if the film will be edited and come out later. During TdF 2003, Fränk Schleck was not part of the CSC's 9-man tour team, but he was riding in front of the race making shots for the movie as Tyler stand-in. So some of the shots made of Tyler wasn't actally him but his teammate Fränk Schleck.

Overcoming has had unofficcial pre-premiere here in Denmark.
Brian Holm who is a T-Mobile DS introduced the movie in a theatre the other day before it was shown.

Tonight the movie will have the official pre-premiere in Copenhagen and Bjarne Riis and some of the CSC riders will be answerering questions after the movie.

Tomorrow it will be shown in theatres around the country.

They were also testing the movie in a theatre before the final version was made.

I haven't watched it yet.

I stole this from another forum:

The Danish Broadcasting corporation is rerunning their documentary from 2003, "Smertens Sejr" - literally "Victory of Pain".

Smertens Sejr (1 Hour)

Essentially a precursor of "Overcoming"; it documents the 2003 Tour de France from CSC's point of view. It focuses most of all on Tyler Hamilton and Nicki Sørensen (the Danish champion), and their ups and downs during the race.

The film is Danish, without subtitles, but due to the international nature of the team, of course much of the discussion in the documentary is in English.

(Click on the little "camera" icon to view.) Or use this direct link: http://mms:/...ej/smertens_sejr.wmv

Kudos to Tyler and his achievements on the bike. But is it just me or does the guy look like a dork?

Anyway the poor guy's been banned already. Somehow I think his appeal may not amount to much since I have never heard of a case being over turned by appeal yet. But good luck to him. For sure it would be good to see him back in the Peloton.

One of the best parts is what Piil says to Riis over the team intercom in Danish.

At one stage Bjarne Riis just told everyone to be around Tyler and protect him.
Then Piil says "Can we not go in ANY breakawys?"
Riis replies: "Yes you can".
Piil later won that stage in a two-man sprint with his breakaway partner Saeco rider Sacchi.

Anyone figure out how to save this video?

You can use Net Transport to save this video stream: http://www.xi-soft.com

Right-click and copy the link for the streaming file: http://mms:/...ej/smertens_sejr.wmv
Insert this link in Net Transport to download and save the stream in your desired folder on your HDD.
Now you can paly double-click on smertens_sejr.wmv to play it in Windows Media Player.

You can fix the wmv file to be able to jump (fast forward and reverse) in the downloaded stream with the bar at the bottom of the Windows Media Player. For this you need another program called Video Fixer v3.23 http://www.video-fixer.com/download.htm

NB: You need to install Microsoft Windows Media Format Redistribution Pack before fixing asf wmv wma file. You can find links for this at the same website.

Just open Video Fixer and add the file (smertens_sejr.wmv). Then click "Fix" and it will create a file called Fixedsmertens_sejr.wmv.
If you open Fixedsmertens_sejr.wmv in Windows Media Player you will be able "rewind" and "fast forward" in the file with the slider bar at the bottom.
