IMLP Statistical analysis
OK, so this is the sorta thing I do when I'm bored. I checked out prior years results, and then came up w/ some analysis so I can figger out ideas for goal splits, etc.

The first batch is just from last year (cuz I was too lazy to go thru prior year's results, and it was good conditions last year, although M Pros will be there this time vs. only W Pros last year, that will certainly have an impact on % rankings to some degree). Here are the % rankings of some given times in each split from '05:

Swim: (1997 finishers)
1:00 11% (if yer under an hour, you got no worries)
1:05 24%
1:10 44%
1:15 60%
1:20 74%
1:25 85% (sadly, these last 3 data points are of major interest to me :-p)

Bike: (1942 finishers)
5:25 1%
5:30 2.5%
5:35 5%
5:40 7.5%
5:45 10%
5:50 14%

Run: (1852 finishers)
3:20 1%
3:30 3.5%
3:40 6.5%
3:50 10%
4:00 15%

And for the 40-44AG over the years, the "slowest" rolldown Kona Q-time, sub 11:00 finish swim split, and K-qualifying swim split (can ya tell what my limiter is :-p):

'05 10:40 1:17 1:11 (corrected)
'04 10:36 1:16 1:12
'03 10:52 1:14 1:14
'02 10:48 1:32 1:11
'01 10:42 1:20 1:20
'00 10:41 1:17 1:13
'99 ??:?? 1:21 1:16

AVG 10:43 1:20 1:14

This has been a public service announcement. We now return you to your normal forum discussions (critique my position, Volume vs. Intensity, Lance is/is not a druggie, etc), already in progress....
