For an iPhone X or a Samsung smart phone.

At first blush I said "that's f'ng crazy"...but when you do the math:

$1,000 cost
Will make it last minimum of two years = 730 days
Works out to $1.37/day
For something that I use every single day constantly, it's not such a big deal.

The question then becomes is it's incremental functionality etc. worth it above and beyond cheaper models...

Hell f#$@ing yes it's too much, it's not worth it. Don't look at it as a cost per day to use, look at it as what your other options are that will do basically the same thing.

I just bought a brand new MotoG 4th Gen, 32G, 2GRam for $150 off Amazon. Unlocked, no contract phone. I pay T Mobile around $45/month for unlimited data/call plan, no contract, month-to-month.

.

OK. But they are not the same product. Does the 4G support the same bands as the iPhone? Does it have 700Mhz? Go to motorola when you have a problem, how is their support? Does camera matter? Do apps matter because app developers build for iPhone first and build it better. Do you care about screen resolution, how easy it easy to unlock? If you don't care about these things and just want to call and text and do basic stuff, then yes buy a Yugo.

I actually gave the wrong specs. My Moto G is 5th gen. 64G and 4G ram. I use it like a regular smartphone, it meets all my app needs. It costs a bit under $300. I'll amend my prior post.

There is no "unlocking", as it comes already unlocked and you can use it with any carrier.

  • The all-day battery includes TurboPower (TM) charging which provides up to 6 hours of use in just 15 minutes
