I've also noticed the same thing. I don't get the 2 o'clock slump when I am well hydrated.
I make a living as a firefighter, so I could at any time work under very hot conditions and possibly for an extended period of time. I've seen dudes shit the bed at fires simply due to dehydration and in no time in the near future do I plan on being that guy.
