Hi ladies,

My wife is planning to do her first triathlon this year, and one of the races that she's looking at is the Mermaid Series sprint triathlon in Alameda, CA. Have any of you done/heard about the race? Any important pointers? Is this a race that you'd recommend for a first-timer? From what I've read on the Website, it seems to be a well-organized, women-specific, and novice-friendly event.
