"He's riding like a man looking for a new contract...which he may be after a move like that." A T-Mobile rider chasing down a break that contained fellow teammate Vinokourov.

Later it was learned that T-Mobile ordered him to chase down his fellow teammate

I can't believe this thread has been around this long and noone has chimed in with these classics:

"My goodness me!"

and

"the sting is in the tail" (referring to race stages with finishing climbs).

The "science" on any matter can never be settled until every possible variable is taken into account.

"He's thrown the cat in amongst the pigeons" is my all-time favorite, but I'm also a big fan of Phil's inevitable mistakes. He gets some guys name wrong, or he thinks we're looking at the breakaway when we're actually seeing dropped riders, and Paul slips in with the correction. "Actually that looks like _________". Happens all the time.

What do Phil & LazyBen have in common? They can say just about anything and it sounds very suave & sophisticated with their accent.

Phil - he's wearing the mask of pain...

Phil - his legs have turned to rubber and his effort reduced to mere survival...

LazyBen - (in the pool) you better lead this set mate...i think i'm getting a bit of a cramp in me calf.

LayzBen - the spice girls are back together?! bloody brilliant mate! actually i was just told that he said this :)

I can't believe I missed this thread and thus this post :)

Mate!?!?! I am not a bloody australian! Besides, I'm going native and use dude quite a lot these days.

Fuck the spice girls! 3 down, 2 to go :)
