personally i wouldn't trust a used chain...

people can get very personal about which chains they prefer... and you'll probably get different opinions everywhere - that might also depend on the other equipment they are using.

Generally Ultegra is next behind Dura ace in their line up - which means it is singificantly less expensive and slightly heavier than dura ace. heavier in this case may not be a bad thing as it might mean it would last longer. I have not done any chain wear / durability tests myself. I personally never use dura ace / sram red chains because they carry a heavy $$ mark up vs. ultegra or force for what doesn't seem like much benefit (less weight and, as far as I have seen, haven't been shown to last longer).
