Optimal power/drag ratio. It's what TT speed boils down to. 400 watts of raw power won't push a billboard to a winning time; a rider with the profile of a bullet can't win if his position only allows 140 watts. To win, you have to minimize drag and maximize power.
More than 50 hours of wind tunnel time went into our carbon Aero Bar. To reduce drag as much as possible, we integrated the brake levers and mounted the extension bars in the same plane as the base bar.
We put at least another 100 hours of CAD work into the extension clamps. The result is featherweight hardware with a vise-like grip.
Smart design didn't stop after wind tunnel and CAD work. The slide and set armrest/extension hardware allows pinpoint positioning. Pinpoint positioning means every rider can be positioned for maximum power and minimal drag.

I am strongly considering purchasing this or the Hed Vantage setup. I 've heard the vantage was more stiff during those times when you have to grip the base bar and the grip area on the integrated Hed's look small, just wondering what you thought?

Do these aerobars have the newer armrest shape or the older circular ones?

Price is very reasonable and i am bent on getting a new cockpit for my bike. Was even thinking of dropping 650 for the new vantage but i think the HED aero's here would be a better bet.

The pads are the newer shape I think. Defintely not round. More contoured to your arms. The carbon base is stiff - but if you're a heavy guy pulling hard during a sprint, they're going to give some. I'm 160lbs and never felt it at all. If you're going tri - doubtful you'd ever notice. How tall are you? The alloy extensions fit me ideally - I'm 5'9". They can be cut, but not extended. Other than that, they rock. I bought a P3 which is why I'm selling them.

I am a fairly large person but unless im really going up a steep uphill or just trying to get blood flow to my sensitive parts i don't use the brake hoods, those are some of the reasons why i was really considering the integrated setup, plus the fact the levers are already attached and the armpads and extensions can go wider versus the vantage.

((((I'm about 6'4" and 165 pounds))))

unless somebody else goes for them ill try to let you know soon if im gonna go for these aerobars.

Oh yeah how long are the extensions?
