So I bought a new Honda Ridgeline a year ago this week. Itās my second one and I love it.
When I purchased it, they threw in a couple free oil changes, and they booked me in that day, at the six month mark and the year. The service department at the local Honda dealership is always busy. I mean packed. If you need service good luck getting in before a week to ten days.
So when I booked a year ago, I booked at 1030AM. A simple oil change only.
I show up at 10:25 and I am told it will be about three hours. Now I am no expert, but an oil change doesnāt take more than 30-45 minutes. I say to the Service Manager āPlease explain to me how an appointment made a year in advance isnāt on time?ā I get mumbled excuses about scheduling and āthis is just how it worksā. WTF?
At worst, I can accept a half hour bump, so maybe an hour and a half total time wasted, but three hours? When I booked a literal year in advance? Even doctors and dentists donāt generally make you wait more than a half hour.
Am I being too demanding? What is your dealership like? I have honestly never had this happen. I owned another Ridgline for eight years prior to this one and dealt with another dealership in another city and never had any issues. In fact, their service department was one of the best Iāve ever seen.
I might have to write an angry letter! Thatāll show them :)
