As a long time Eagles fan, I always prepare myself for disappointment.

Just remember, the Eagles were 5-1 3 seasons ago. The following year they went 7-9 and fired the coach.

And continuing to have that same long time Eagles fan mentality over the years, where did it get us? Nowhere. Change it up - be positive - may actually have a real quarterback with receivers who can catch the ball!!!

Actually I am very excited about the team, especially the QB. He looks like a real franchise player! Remember all those duds we went through before we got Mcnabb?

I just hope this isn't early season "haven't figured us out yet" play.

A couple of articles out today on this. I wonder if the NFL will address it. Last night Pete Morelli’s crew called 10 penalties on the Eagles for 126 yds vs 1 penalty for the panthers.

Pete Morelli’s crew in last 2 Eagles games

Philly penalties - 24 for 234 yards

Opponent penalties - 3 for 19 yards

and

Pete Morelli’s crew in last FOUR Eagles games

Philly penalties - 40 for 396 yards

Opponent penalties - 8 for 72 yards

Yeah, but the penalties were the only part of the game that was really "Eagles football."

I mean, they didn't miss tackles, they didn't choke, they didn't call run plays up the middle on 3rd and 85 yards, they didn't forget that the clock exists in the last few minutes of the game . . . . Basically, they were hard to recognize.

It was a little unsettling, to be honest.

Most of the penalties called on the Eagles were valid calls. But they didn't call it both ways. PI called on Mills was identical type play to the one not called on Jeffries. Blunt called for unsportsmanlike on the play he was blocking vs not getting the same call when someone tossed him after the whistle was blown. There were a couple of others and 1 penalty to Eagles 10 was more then a little lopsided all things considered.

Yeah, not only are the Eagles not fucking up in the usual ways, and finding whole NEW ways to fuck up, they're simply not fucking up at all

[OK, they shouldn't have let the Giants or Cardinals come back in the game, but we got an epic field goal and exquisite example of clock-burning out of it]

Interesting. Wasn't there a comment the announcers made on the Monday night game where the officials were very involved? Can't be the same officiating crew for sure.

I kind of remember a lot of flags on MNF. But I was distracted by windy and his Zima.
