Welcome back Duffy

I was thinking the same. The writing style seems different although the content is right. But after the rod thruster episode he could've learned some valuable lessons. Not saying RT was Duffy. This however would be a well played role. Especially starting off in the other forum.

Rod thruster was not duffy.

I don't think he was and I don't really think this guy is either. But putting my tin foil hat on marathon could be a well played role by Duffy. I highly doubt it but it would be pretty funny if it was him.

Kind of but wasnt them. He had more firearm knowledge than those two.

Also Thruster and Duffy were arguing one day. If thruster was Duffy that was a very strange event.

And Thruster's posts are still available. I have seen a poster reply to his alter ego though.

Yes, i have seen that two but this was different. Duffy was perplexed by what Thruster said and why he would say that. Also thruster was banned. If Duffy was Thruster Dan would be able to tell by his IP address and would have banned him too.

My guess is that Dan has never noticed the Gheydar account.

I thought Rod Thruster was theForge trying to get around his ban.

I also thought Dan caught on .... hence no more Rod Thruster either.

He was calling Thruster "Forge" when he first showed up. My real question and being computer illiterate, how hard would it be to have a second IP address for an pseudo account and not get caught? Is that just a matter of a different computer and internet connection? If I logged on to my computer through my wifi and my wife's computer with neighbors wifi would it show different IP's?

I always assumed alternate names that were clearly in jest or to have an extra layer of anonymity on a sensitive topic were given more leeway if they weren't used to mislead. I'm not going to talk abut my rectal warts on an ID that has my name attached.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

Not according to the FAQ

MULTIPLE USER NAMES:
A big no-no. Stick to one user account. You can change your user name, but no creating multiple accounts. Note that your string of previous user names appends to your user profile.

Rod Thruster was TheForge.

The only reason I'd question that is I got a really weird PM from Rod Thruster about cooling it with the Forge references. Based on the Thruster posts I'm pretty sure it was him. The PM didn't sound like him at all.

Based on the info in his profile, TheForge was also theforge, The Comedian, Nietzsche, and Juan Tabo, but never Rod Thruster.

Unless he created a second account, he never used that name on his primary account.

Your neighbor's wifi would have a different IP. As I understand it, your computer and your wife's would show the same IP if connecting from the same wifi. That's why I get ads for pet stuff and women's clothes when I surf at home.

If I wanted multiple accounts (Beep!) I would use dial-up. You get a new IP address every time on dial-up.

My understanding also is that if you log on using your mobile data plan and not wifi, you'll likely get a new IP you lose the connection or restart your phone. I got banned a couple weeks ago after restarting my phone and getting connected through an IP address that had been banned.

Also, if you use wifi at some location other than home, it'll be a different IP.
