I had good luck with some Alpines in my truck about 2 years ago. Not completely sure on model, found them on the bargain table at BestBuy. In the past it seemed like aftermarket speakers lacked some of the bass of stock speakers while being much better on the high end as they assume you would have a sub. These Alpines are very well rounded, I do have a sub, but they still sound really good when I turn it off. Think I paid $100 for the first pair and $120 for the second pair.
