You want an abomination?

Can't wait to get my hands on a chromed-out, violently shaking superbike.

Well, Porsche lost me when they started making SUVs. I don't get it either.

That to. But they really lost me when they stopped making air cooled 911's.

Agreed.

I know this is not the perfect analogy, but, to me, Porsche was more akin to a model line than a car brand. Again, not a perfect analogy, but it was more like "Corvette" in that there was a range from Stingray to ZR1, than it was to "Chevy" with multiple vehicle types. The Porsche SUV and sedan are almost like having a Corvette SUV and a Corvette sedan. It doesn't seem to "fit."

Apparently, it's a combination of 1) fallout from the HUGE fine levied against VW (Volkswagen Group owns Ducati) and 2) H-D's receding marketshare - seems that younger riders don't care for, or can't afford H-D products.

Some of the comments at the bottom of the article are hilarious.

The only Porsches that have made it are the 911 variants. Porsche has a number of bombs. Think 928. Really great car that was supposed to replace the rear engined cars but totally missed the target audience. Saw one in our local weekly community paper a few years ago listed "$3500. Engine turns over but won't start. Will trade for bass boat."

..............hybrid.

I hate to say it, but let's assume you want a Porsche station wagon. I think the hybrid would actually be the one to get.

The base model has 330HP and 5.2s 0-60 starting at $85K. Kind of weaksauce. You're going to struggle to beat the Tesla assholes.
The hybrid has 462 (combined) HP and respectable 4.4s at reasonable $100K. Smokin' the Tesla bitches.
The Turbo has 550HP and 3.4s. $150K. Meh. Those numbers are OK, but....

For $20K less you get the E63S with its bonkers 603HP and dead sexy wagon looks.

Or if you want to go bargain-basement, the CTS-V with ~550HP at just $90K.

Yes, I know the Panamera technically isn't a wagon. But it kinda is.

How about the Panamera Sport Turismo... this is pretty wagon-esque. From the NYC auto show this year.
