Hi Everybody,
To make a long story short, after a head injury/severe concussion last Fall, I have had a lot of memory issues, some mild but annoying numbness in the hands, feet, and face, and other shit I'm forgetting. I went back to the neurologist last week, hoping to find answers. The doc is concerned that I may have had a mild stroke or mini strokes, and has ordered up a few tests, including an MRI. I had an MRI a week and a half after the accident. Some questions:
1. If I had a stroke at/near the time of the accident, would they have found anything in the MRI then, even though they were primarily concerned with the concussion? Would they have to specifically look for it?
2. I don't know much about stroke or mini strokes. Does a stroke or mini stroke leave any trace of damage of some sort? To cut to the chase, I'm pretty skeptical that they will actually find anything.
3. If they do find anything, what do they do about it at this point?
To further complicate things, I have Lupus and Celiac, which can both introduce neurological complications. It's a very frustrating combination of things and I feel like my overall health has gone downhill rapidly, and that seems to coincide with the accident. It seems like this has the potential to be a waste of a money and time, they'll find nothing, and I will still feel like shit and won't remember anything.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
