Hillary destroyed

Thanks, Trump.

Quote:
One of Mount Everest’s famous rocky ridges, known as the Hillary Step, has collapsed, making the near-vertical rock potentially even more dangerous to mountain climbers.

Mountaineers confirmed that the well-known rock, located approximately 28,800 feet above sea level and known as the last obstacle before reaching the top of Mount Everest, was gone.

“It was reported last year, and indeed I climbed it last year, but we weren’t sure for certain ‘The Step’ had gone because the area was blasted with snow,” British climber Tim Mosedale, who reached the summit on May 16, wrote in a Facebook post. “This year, however, I can report that the chunkof rock named ‘The Hillary Step’ is definitely not there any more. [sic]”

Ha! Nice lead-in.

Reminds me of when the Gendarme fell at Seneca Rocks:

Don't blame Trump. It was the Russians. They slipped across the border and hacked at the rocks. The rocks weren't very secure and were easy to break.

The change in the Hillary Step is now confirmed.

Quote:
American climbers Garrett Madison and Ben Jones, both of whom summited Everest in the final weeks of May, tell Outside that the Hillary Step has been significantly altered.

I suggest we rename it the Trump Landslide in honor of the biggest geological event in recorded history.

Appropriate considering she was named after him.

That point has been a notorious challenge for summiteers. Wonder how much easier it is now. I guess itnis all relative by the time you reach that point.

It wouldn't have been a challenge for TheForge. He would have leaped it in a single bound.

We'll need someone who's summitted before [maybe more than once?] to go up and tell us

That could take some time

Didn't he want to give it a go after watching some docs on everest and K2?

It wasn't an earthquake. He moved that rock himself, he took it home as a souvenir.

He wouldn't need to. Everest would bow down to him.

IDK do you have any insight on that?

All I do know is if TheForge decide to make the climb he'd carry his and his Sherpas gear.
