This is just Trump diversion tactic of the day. I get it if you are negotiating the price a car but a little bit of back and forth on the phone probably isn't the way to negotiate NAFTA. This is sort of like his one page strategy to simplify the tax code. I think we have more to lose than the US but I think everyone loses on this one.

There seems to be this belief that NAFTA was unfair to the USA.
A belief which is the opposite of what both Canada and Mexico seem to believe.

What if Mexico and Canada are right?

That Mexico and Canada benefited from NAFTA, but not nearly as much as the USA.

What if the USA abused its considerable political clout during the post Soviet era to negotiate one hell of a deal for itself.

What happens now that the USA is run by unhinged lunatic? Now that China and the E.U. are stronger rivals?

Seems likely that Trump could lose concessions rather than gain them.
