Poachers kill rhino in a Paris zoo

“Poachers have shot dead a rhino after breaking into a zoo near Paris, hacking off its ivory horn with a chainsaw in the first such case in Europe.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/...de-french-zoo-first/

Sickening (and is it even poaching if they're in a zoo?) I’m not a big fan of zoos in the first place, but at least they keep the animals alive.

Poaching in general gets me hot under the collar, almost irrationally so. If I step back and look at why some people do it (e.g., in some places it's the best/only realistic option for finding a way to support their families) I can see some of the complexities, but my default reaction is anger and a desire for swift, physical punishment of the perpetrators.

Thanks China!

Seriously, 99% of this stuff ends up in China so some 80yr old can believe that he will live to 148 and give John Holmes a run for his money. If its endangered, a Chinese person wants to kill it. One weird exemption is the panda. The one endangered species that should be extinct naturally and they do everything they can to breed them. If a species has no desire to mate, it should go extinct.

thats the fault of the zoos, not the pandas. captivity is not conducive to the pandas mating instincts. in the wild, they mate just fine.

My middle-aged brother and I had a daydream session like that over the holidays. I decided I want to become a special ops, rappel out of a helicopter with an anti-poaching war dog and a rifle guy - http://www.bbc.com/...orld-africa-37535873

Why do you hate satisfied Chinese women?

Civilize the mind, but make savage the body.

Some zoos encourage those instincts with panda porn.
