Anyone have a suggestion as to what would be good encryption software? I see a few names tossed around on google searches but I'm hoping someone with a bit more direct knowledge could steer me in the right direction.

It depends on what you need it for, really.
Just a person who wants to encrypt their own files? Bitlocker is probably good enough. Want something more robust? Veracrypt is the new and improved Truecrypt which was found to have serious issues.
People who use it have favourites just like any software. Rumours abound as to which ones have government backdoors built into them etc. If I had to choose, I would use Veracrypt but I have no secrets to hide. :-p

I was generally familiar with it and just had a look. It looks very secure, but can't speak from experience as I'm just looking at the specs for it.
Our IT security guys will only approve hardware based ones. Those Datatravelers or Apricorn Aegis Secure keys ($$)
