That was an awesome video. Pretty sure I would have blown that off the green and most likely into a bunker with that many people watching (and a hundo sitting on the ground).

5 co-captains seems a bit excessive, but I think the RC over the last couple of decades has undoubtedly shown the importance of putting together the right team spirit, culture, etc. Get it right and you get guys like Poulter and Montgomerie, who have never won a major, looking virtually unbeatable. Get it wrong and you have somebody like Woods, who was practically odds on to win every tournament he started at one point, having an overall career losing record at the Ryder Cup. In terms of European captains, Nick Faldo was clearly a disaster - great golfer, but a terrible man manager.

If Watson brings a little extra zip to the US dressing room, then having him involved is the right call.

If he didn't hit the cup, the ball may still be rolling with his hard he hit it.

USA perfectly positioned for traditional Sunday meltdown, up 4-0 after morning sessions.

Mickelson was clamoring for a more "inclusive" Ryder Cup, to get input from players, but I think they are going way overboard. It is an individual sport and the players have done quite well on their own with a coach and 5 cheerleaders, their entire lives.

I think part of the plan is to spread the blame if they lose again. Love will of course fall on his sword if he loses but really, the U.S would have won all of the Ryder Cups if they had made a few more putts. The last lost really had nothing to do with Watson as they were playing fine up to the final day. For some reason, guys like Mickelson seemed to be okay with Watson until the Sunday singles matches, then his ability to lead suddenly disappeared. As co-incidence would have it, Watson's leading ability fell apart at about the same time the players lost their ability to make a putt.

Convincing victory by the US team today. I guess the Task Force approach worked out after all. Some really good golf. The Reed/McIlroy match was good, but the Garcia/Mickelson match was amazing. Both essentially shot 63, 19 birdies combined, no bogeys for Garcia, and Phil shot his 63 even with a three putt on one hole.

I've only heard about some of the things said but it appears that the American fans were a tad unruly and classless. McElroy was told to "go suck a dick" by one fan.

I would find that funny but these guys aren't used to that kind of talk from fans.

The chants of U-S-A! U-S-A! when Europeans missed putts were a bit much.

How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big?

I really wish that chant would disappear. It ruined a great sporting event.

What's wrong with chanting "USA"? They're expressing their love of their country. It seems there's a segment of liberals, and a large one at that, that dislike patriotism, particularly American patriotism.

Repeating an overused chant at a GOLF match proves they love their country? Really?

Considering I'm neither very liberal or American, I'll have to take your word for it.

I thoight the crowd were pretty good on sunday. At one point in mcilroy reed match someone said something and you could hear the entire crowd turn round and say "it was him" and the person was removed from the venue........

I do not think the shouting of usa usa is any different to the euro's shouting ole ole ole.......same same

I think it was slightly worse this year, but the officials were pretty quick to escort someone out if they really crossed the line.

USA, USA gets annoying because it's so "in your face," but you get similar stuff from the European fans when it's held over there. The USA chant is more visible because it happens everywhere the US plays sports, whereas Europe isn't combined into a single team at every sporting event.

USA chant is fine when you do something well. It's when the other team falters and the USA chant starts up.

It's just low class. I would expect that in Yankee stadium. But not from golf fans.

So, for example, it would not be appropriate to cheer when an opposing player misses a free throw late in the game? How about a receiver dropping a sure 1st down pass?

It's golf. It's different. Or at least it's supposed to be anyway.

You cretins clearly don't understand.

I get it. But the Ryder Cup is different golf, and about the only golf event where kind of behavior might be appropriate. Except maybe the Phoenix Open....

One of the Euros said he knew it was going to be a tough day when he was teeing off at 730am and a bunch of fans were drinking beer.
