Is the sunrise so much better as to justify leaving at 3am?

"Go yell at an M&M"
Only did the sunrise trip - rode the van up and cruised down on a bike. It wasn't the most memorable thing we did in Maui but was enjoyable. Coming from the east coast we were up at that hour anyway.
We went for the sunrise and didn't get to see it because it was cloudy that morning. Never been up there for sunset. We'd much rather be at the beach having a nice tropical drink at sunset.
Don
Tri-ing to have fun. Anything else is just a bonus!
We saw a sunrise (and did not consider a sunset - not sure why) and it was fantastic. I don't know how weather plays into it, but for us starting in complete darkness and then slowly seeing more and more features was worth the trip. We purposely did not look at any pictures ahead of time so we really did not know what to expect.
3 fucking AM??? No

Sunrise. It's worth it.
For the best sunset go to Kono's on the Green in Kihei.
I knew you'd show up. :)
Sunrise if you don't mind getting up that early.
I was at the top of Mauna Kea for the sunset last winter and that was incredible.
We did sunset. Sun setting on one side and moon on the other side.
