Kinda copped out on the history question….

I'll change my answer to the time of the Greek Empire.

I'm particularly interested in, and fond of, the life of and philosophy of Aristippus of Cyrene (around 350 BC, I think) and that which happened around him and the world during that era.

Thai food or Vietnamese?

Is alkaline water legit?

Your favorite animal at the zoo?

Five favorite books?

What new show should I watch this season?

Lobster or King Crab?

What was your first car?

Am I bored or are you that interesting?

I like both. I'll give the slight nod to Vietnamese but the one Vietnamese restaurant around here is much more expensive than our go to Thai place, so we eat more Thai.

I order take out Thai by phone so often they know it's me when i call. Remember the tipping thread? I tip, even for take out, and subsequently get treated very well.

If it's alkaline then it's legitimately alkaline water. It hydrates just like the water that fills my toilet.

Zoo animals make me sad, but if you let me expand the parameters of the question to include aquariums (like Long Beach or Monterey Bay) my favorite captive animal, hands down, are Sea Horses.

Five favorite books?

Off the top of my head (and limiting myself to 5 different authors)...

1. Water Music

2. Dead Eye Dick

3. Skinny Legs and All

4. Blood Meridian.

5. Good Night Gorilla

None. Go outside.

Lobster or King Crab?

Pacific Spiny Lobster.

What was your first car?

1968 VW Bug.

You're resurrecting this thread and I'm responding, on a Friday night, so the answer is obvious....

Do they have leafy sea dragons in the wild in your neck of the woods (or ocean)? Saw a couple when I was scuba diving in Tasmania - pretty wild looking animals, like sea horses on steroids, but don't know what their range is.

No. We have the correct conditions for them to survive here but they just aren't here. I like those things, too. Still like sea horses better.
