Cards Against Humanity

I heard this is a really fun game. Anyone play it? Would it be inappropriate for kids/teens?

Do you wanot to explain what bukakke is to your kids? That's a tame one. It gets worse from there :)

Yes it's super fun especially if drinking or smoking pot.

That was my first thought as well. The greatest part of playing that game is witnessing the moment of realization as players google that word.

Extremely fun. If they can't buy booze legally they should never play it. (I would never play it with my parents and I'm in my 30's). The drunker the better.

Totally fun game! Especially if you are playing it with people who share your twisted sense of humor. A little less fun playing with straightlaced Southerners but, it is fun to shock them. And yes, drinking does help.

Perfect for high school ages. Played it with my high school-age son several times over the summer, we had a blast and laughed heuristically. This is a game that can be rather topical, sophomoric, satirical, nasty, phobic whatever, etc. If the kid is a namby pamby snow flake that has been brainwashed with political correctness, get them Uno. On second thought, Uno isn't good either because someone wins.

I believe this is an adult version of a game called apples to apples. Look that up if you want something PG.

What's that?

I'm pretty sure teenagers would be more equipped to handle this game then some 30-40 somethings. Most teens do have access to the internet, people.

That being said, I don't find the game that fun. Saying dirty words isn't something I find particularly shocking or entertaining. Working in construction, and having a wife in nursing, leaves me pretty desensitized to the point of the game.

Long Chile was a silly place.

I thought it was a small Japanese cake made of buckwheat, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Never mind - I just googled it. It's apparantly some Japanese professional athlete. This guy is wearing his jersey.

It is a great game if you have the right crowd.

Have you tried "The game of Things". It is a ton of fun with the right crowd. You can make the game PG or as ridiculous as your mind allows you to make it.

All I can tell you is Juniors in High School so 16, 17 yr olds play it all the time. Was chaperoning a Marching Band dance / party and there where 2 games of about 10 - 15 kids each playing it sitting on the floor near the wall. My daughter included, I did some research at that point, decided not a game I wanted to play with my kids, but if you think by that age, they don't know about those things, open your eyes.

more teen appropriate would be SuperFight. Semi-similar play mechanic. Leads to some fun arguments - like who would win in a fight, the Queen in a blimp or a giant squid with octopus arms?

Here are some from a recent game of late 20's people.

Getting high + Bukkake = A Salty Surprise.

Unplanned pregnancy + Coat Hanger = Wifely Duties.

So on and so forth. Funny game, but definitely requires the right crowd. I wouldn't play it with kids or my family.

If you are looking for a funny family game I recommend Quelf. Clean, but hilarious and works well with different groups.

Another suggestion: Evil Apples. Yes, it's an app, not a card game, but it's brilliant. Like apples to apples but a bit adult rated. But if someone can't handle that as a high schooler, they must not walk through the halls of their school.

Reminds me that one time playing Cards Against Humanity I had to explain to my older sister what a "queef" was. And then a "fleshlight". I'm definitely not going to be playing with my mother-in-law!

Anyone play across generations? Teenagers + parents, teenagers + parents + grandparents?

We played recently with our teenagers. Uh, yeah. I mean no. Some topics shouldn't cross the generation boundary.

Eg, what's a "queef"?

If you have to ask you shouldn't be playing

Have played with the wife and kids several times. I think my son was 15 first time we played it (daughter was 17).
So damn funny I think I broke a rib I laughed so hard.

Both kids have smart phones and Ive busted my son googling porn more than once at 14 (no moose), so Im sure they have heard far worse.
