I just found out COL David Hackworth passed away yesterday.

He was a role model for me. The grunts have lost a true advocate. He will be missed.

That is very sad. I was interviewed by COL Hackworth when I was in company command. He was writing a piece on Basic Combat Training. A very nice guy and great soldier.

I just read "Steel My Soldiers Hearts" last year. Excellent book and good perspective on Vietnam.

Very very sad news. Hack was my all-time hero, truly a one of a kind. One of the highlights of my military career was when I stumbled into a radio interview and Hack was also on the show. America will miss his voice, courage, and integrity.

Airborne Forever!
