This is hard. But here's a list, mostly stuff 10+ years old. What can say, college was a good time and these are the soundtrack to those years for me (except for the few newer ones). With bands like Pearl Jam and DMB its hard to pick a favorite album........kj
  • Pearl Jam- vs
  • Foo Fighters- One by One
  • Coldplay- Rush of Blood
  • Jack Johnson- Brushfire Fairytales
  • Brad- Interiors
  • Dave Matthews Band- Before These Crowded Sreets
  • Linkin Park- Hybrid Theory
  • The Police- Synchronicity
  • Sting- Ten Sumner's Tales
  • Alice in Chains- Dirt

Why do I think I am the only old school rap/funk freak on this board.

Rappers Delight- sugar Hill Gang

Purple Rain- Prince

Nasty Girl- Vanity Six

1999- Prince

Don't flame me for this one: Thriller- Micheal Jackson

Sound track from "Breakin"

BTW- I have at least one of these album names wrong. I am currently replacing a lot of this but one song at a time instead of albums. Downloads rule.

Oh man, two more great albums here: Robert Cray and OBWAT OST. There's just so many good albums, it's tough to get them all in one shot.

I would also have to list Sloan as one of the most underrated bands out there. Love those guys, good Canadian kids ;-)

This is practically impossible. I'll give it a go, but I could come up with a completely different list tomorrow. And, I'll just leave jazz and blues out of it completely because my head is spinning enough already:
  • Let it Bleed - Rolling Stones
  • Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain - Pavement
  • Life's Rich Pageant - REM
  • Meat is Murder or Hatful of Hollow - The Smiths
  • Kaya or Exodus - Bob Marley
  • Paul's Boutique - Beastie Boys
  • Live at Luther College - Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds
  • Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars - Bowie
  • Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo - Devo
  • Reckoning - Grateful Dead
  • Warehouse: Songs & Stories - Husker Du
  • Joshua Judges Ruth - Lyle Lovett
  • A Picture of Nectar - Phish
  • Surfer Rosa - Pixies
  • The Uplift Mofo Party Plan - Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • 40 oz. to Freedom - Sublime
  • X - Under the Big Black Sun

Plus almost anything by the Beatles, Elvis Costello, U2, the Clash, the Specials, etc.

BTW, have any of you heard "Live at Stubb's," a new album by Matisyahu? He is a 24-year old former Dead-Head, turned Hasidic Jew who does rap/reggae that will blow you away. I thought it would be gimmicky, but it's the real deal.
