Boeing fires CEO
CNN is reporting that Boeing has fired their CEO over an affair with a Boeing executive. Boeing is saying that although the affair didn't strictly break the company's ethics policy, it would have brought embarrassment to the company and might contribute to Boeing not getting, among other things, military contracts.

When's the last time a big company fired a guy for getting his groove on?

Anybody suspect there must be something else behind this?

I met Harry many times when he was at Sundstrand - he, his wife and his kids all seemed quite nice and to be good people. He was a friend of my now dead jack ass step father. The way I see it, there are and could be many reasons - down to that they knew he was going to "Retire" in less than a year and that known would hang heavy on stock prices. I think that this was more a money thing and if there was another woman that is just an excuse...

besides, he is 70!!! god bless him and any woman willing to take on a Viagra lit up Harry....

Nothing more behind this then a married CEO cheating on his wife and getting caught. What an embarassment and poor way to end a career if not marriage.

Ya never know...who are we to judge...all he is - is an executive, he is not supposed to be a pillar of morals like that I will hold our president.

In business, lead follow or get the hell out of the way - pull them toes back cause I WILL step on them.

Excellent question and subject. It is a very touchy issue. In fact, my boss just got fired and escorted out the door. He was separated but not divorced and was having a fling with a co-worker 1/2 his age and was old enough to be this girls father. While this was not cited as the reason for his departure he had other managerial shortfalls that caused his demise but this ulimately was the straw that broke the camels back.

In some states having an affair while being married is against the law. Some companies have policies about dating in the workplace. In addition, getting your groove on while in the office could have been the issue as well.

Any time an exec has a fling with a subordinate there are legal issues that any company needs to worry about just in case the shit hits the fan. You think for an instant that Paula Jones would have said Boo if slick willy actually left that dike Hillary for her? Hell no...she would have held her chin high, rubbed that giant ass nose to the ceiling and marched on proud.

If this woman was not a co-worker and it was not an illegal relationship, the company can then be sued for their discharging the poor bloak...damn lawyers...

You're a freak-show.

The board asked for his resignation, and he gave it. I don't think a lawsuit would work real well.

Oh just wait. Now she will claim sexual harassment. Write a book, go on Oprah and then check into a detox clinic. Everyone deserves their 15 minutes of fame. Hers has just started. Who is going to publish the first picture of her?

You cant say I am wrong though now can you? ONLY reason many of these "other women" start to sing is cause they fell left out a christmas time when the "love of their life" is with his wife and family. I know a few who have been the "other" woman...they always get pissed on the holidays...

My feeling is that there is something more to this... this is an excerpt out of an article in the March 1 edition of Flight International:

"Meanwhile, the jail sentences handed to former USAF procurement official Darleen Druyun in November and Sears on 18 February are not likely to
complete the criminal element of the probe. The federal prosecutor, in court documents, has criticised Boeing's "entire" senior management for
knowing about Sears' talks with Druyun, but failing to "confront the obvious legal and ethical issues presented by these employment negotiations...
Boeing executives appear to have accepted the negotiations as business as usual." "

They brought him in and he wrote a corporate code that included not doing anything to embarras Boeing. He then screwed a co worker. He was a hypocrite. It embarrases Boeing.

P.S. I don't know what it is about people who make big money who think the same rules don't apply to them as it would to the rest of us, but more than a few have stepped right into the shit from doing stoooopid stuff like this.

I think this little expose' covers some deeper issues within the senior management at Boeinc. Harry was just a place holder until the candidates in the line of succession were proven beyond any doubt to be absolutely clean.
