Do you know if the RTC is only for 10 speed or do they also make ones for a 9 speed?

can someone explain to me why it will only work with a SRAM drivetrain? one would think that the cables are all the same and you have to fine tune the shifting in when it's wired....what am i missing?

Though the spacing between cogs is the same, the amount of cable pull (movement) is different for each brand / style of derailleur. Shimano shifters may move the cable 1.2mm per indexed shift, where as SRAM may move 1.08mm per indexed shift. So when you match a SRAM shifter with a Shimano derailleur, you may be able to properly set the limits of derailleur movement, but each time you shift, the guide pulley will not line up properly with the desired cog on the cassette. The adjustment on the barrel nut will not be able to account for this difference.
