a coffee place called jamoca opened a few weeks ago in El Paso. They have a drive through service and a big banner that says

'why walk when you can drive?'

i guess that says it all...

Obesity is rampant in this country, as is Type II Diabetes. More people have back trouble because they sit around all day hunched over a computer keyboard (!) and heart disease runs rampant...

And people laugh at me for commuting on my bike!

Are you sure that's why they're laughing?

I've never understood why people are so freaking lazy they can't get park their cars and walk up to the counter, especially since it's usually FASTER than sitting in a long-drive through line of idling SUVs. Those people are getting fat, wasting gas and increasing pollution all at the same time. Ya gotta love it....

Not as bad as the chain of stores know as "Brew-thru". They're a drive through beer dealer. Nothing like taking a hardline stance against drunk driving. They generally draw the line at hard liquor. I mean, they've gotta have standards. ;-)

Hilarious to see people queueing in a supermarket carpark to get a spot closer to the main door. Omigod, you can see them thinking, imagine if we had to walk 200m to the door of the market! My heart rate would blow!

When National Geographic does a feature/cover story in the Aug 04 issue entitled "Why are Americans so Fat?", then you know it's so. Was an interesting read.

When I went to Disneyworld last June my wife and me were shocked at the number of people in motorized wheelchair. Mostly because approx. 95% of those people were in those chair because they were too fat to walk.

We also noticed a hughe amount of kids (not babies or toddlers) in strollers. Some kids looked like they were about 9/10 years old. So I guess they used to being rolled around from a very young age.
