Re: Most Aero shoe [Thomas Gerlach]
I wish I could participate in this thread more - I have been doing a lot of CFD modelling. I have a triathlon-specific shoe design that is very easy to put on and take off while riding the bike that so far modelling shows to be A LOT faster than a conventionally shaped shoe that is completely smooth with no closure mechanism.

I just got the patent attorney going on it yesterday. In a couple of months I hope that I can get some input on it from the Slowtwitch community, but I can't share anything until I have something on file.

I think the crono gets some things right, but I also think it gets some things very wrong. Some of my simulations have shown that changes that I thought would be extremely beneficial ended up being big negatives for surprising reasons that, in hindsight, make sense. The crono is also the most obscenely ugly piece of footwear ever developed. Also hard to put on.

Edit - has bont published any kind of analysis or testing that shows the advantage of the crono? As far as I can tell they just say, "this shoe is fast".
