ITU World Triathlon Championship Series 2025 General Chat

What in the fuck are you talking about? What in the hell does that even matter when talking specifically about us roster (which was started by Ajax- who’s not American mind you). GJ’s biggest question is problay her health which then makes her a pick. She’s been in and out of extended missed time for various injuries mostly related to bike crashes and some training run issues.

I’m not sure why you’re getting so upset, using this language and abusing also in private, but perhaps I hit a nerve.
If you look up, it was actually you that started this, taking the last and shortest sentence from a very well put post by Ajax. It’s a constant obsession, because I don’t see anyone here talking about the depth issues of the German women team for example (which is about 10 times stronger than all others apart from France) or for example that the French men are a bit struggling to find new recruits to replace the likes of Bergere, Le Corre and Luis at the top.
The mentality is just twisted unfortunately, and probably that’s the reason why whenever american athletes step foot outside of american soil they get a beating. Or when europeans come to give one, in any existing distance.

Also I don’t think GS will ever have the swim to truly be competitive in full field itu races. But she has a kick ass career as a nasa rocket scientist to always fall back on.

EA is probably the best option (better then GS option probably) if knibb/GJ don’t make it or arent around. Which is sorta my point, the top athletes the US likely needs has the likely biggest question marks if they’ll even do itu in ‘28- and yes that includes Pearson.

thumbs up :+1:

Lol I don’t even post much anymore in the itu thread (ever since I took the collegiate job, I’ve had less focus on wtcs level racing) and hell the last post I posted on was about a Bristish athlete’s retirement. But pardon me if someone talks about the US roster and I then have an opinion on it. So again thumbs up!

It’s spelt with a single g, you misspeller!!!111111oneoneoneunounouno

I was trying to reflect a rather toothless if erudite phrase and one that bounced around a lot. Also to echo the multiple double letters in “youR Reading compreSSion sucks aSS.”
I satisfy my competitive nature by racing but it’s an individual choice.

That and having good air quality. The air quality in Delhi can range from very unhealthy to hazardous so they probably have a lucky escape if it is Delhi again. Other cities there are not that much better.

Almost a century after losing the empire, Britain has become more suitable for outdoor activities than its largest former colony…

The interesting thing about the schedule next year is that with so many wtcs races during the start of the qualification system, you can’t count all the results, and so we may actually see more people jumbled closer together than ever before. Making the race for 3 federation spots even more spicier. It’ll be interesting if they then are forced to include the same number of events for the 2nd year, or a more usual *smaller number of races.

Next year may sorta turn into what we kinda saw in T100 this year, where everyone could get max points (or as close to it) because so many races, and people skipping, etc. Chances of wtcs athletes skipping races are less (especially probaly the T2x type of athlete) but it still may turn into everyone sorta getting max scores vs having a limited number of races and thus better positions would be more valuable.

i would agree, at the same time the first 3 wtcs races will be before the qualification window starts. so we will see who will focus on maximinsing world series points vs max oly qual points ( and like the British and German females have to hit the world series races from the start to hold their ranking to get starts later for the series) .
also interesting are the world cup races in south america which has 5 out of 15en world cups, and 3 in august. and for the lesser athletes that could work very well to get good oly points on the score board , as i cant see too many of the big hitters going there, as they will be at altitude for the end of the WTCS series.

Might be a sneakily perfect pathway for a development athlete like US’s Vannerson to secure top 30 ranking and hopefully get US 3 slots.

I would disagree with that statement. I think John Reed is already better than both, and still improving at a high rate. Reece is not there yet, and not sure he’ll ever get there on the swim but he’s a talent whose improvement is worth monitoring in the next couple of years. But with Pearson and Reed you already have what looks like a very solid one-two for L.A.

something unrelated but given that the 2025 wtcs season is now history would it not be time to start the 2028 LA ITU thread ( I insist on ITU lol ) or at least the 2026 Itu season thread , or just the ITU thread? ( to give our british friends a chance to talk about the commonwealth games 2026 and 2030)

and i guess the more interesting part ,while one can see australian triathlon is doing a lot of things for brisbane 2032, its not really too visible what efforts Usa triathlon is and has been doing to be at its best for the home games for the last 5 years. It does not seem that there a masterplan.

This superseded @ajthomas initial ‘postTokyo’ ITU thread which only made it to 78 posts. @ajthomas 's post was the OP of the second thread he started in May 2022, when the Olympic Q window opened. That thread made >3000 posts and prevailed over the other competing ITU threads.

I suggest we invite/ask @Jackets (this thread’s OP) to amend his thread’s title to a more generic ‘ITU short course looking forward to LA28’ - he will think of a better title. There is lots in this thread which looks forward and a new thread would lose it all.

I would agree to change the title of this thread would be the best.

Yeah I see the point of keeping this thread, but also it would feel like we’re confining all World Series discussions to a very crowded ghetto. Double as crowded as a single season thread, to be precise.

The question is, how many will people enter a discussion started in the 782th post of a thread?
