still early but so far LCB is sneakily holding her own. Derron is still 4 mins back of podium. Waugh doing what she needs to do with the lead, Knibb may just be in “least amount of work for best placing” mode with IM her focus right now.
Someone needs to be fired, this is the worst production decisions I’ve seen on tv.

Waugh looks fantastic, the gap is absolutely huge, I’d say eyeballing it 15 sec on LCB and 30-35 on Taylor
Taylor’s body language is very negative though, really looks like an off day
Looks like she is in just checking the box mode, and is still strong enough to have a “bad” day and still podium. She has to be in Kona build mode right now from a training prospective. (I assume she’'s going to work to beat LCB for max 2nd place points though unless she’s just totally feeling meh).

When they do the long view showing the entire course and 18 athletes are all near the camera and 1 swimmer is waaaay back there…my goodness that’s gotta suck for Long over and over and over.
LCB looks like she’s not giving up. Taylor can just manage for third place.
That said, I’m baking here so I’ll head home, having to race tomorrow lol
Also to note for the men’s race, a brutal wind has just picked up, it may play up on the bike dynamics.

The races overlap, by design.
The women are all on the run and they are only on the second of 5 laps. Waugh is, on form, the strongest runner. Surprised Knibb is not running better, so far. Maybe being more measured than LCB.

LCB hanging on to 2nd and putting in sizeable gap has to be the story of the day so far. Still a lot of real estate left to race though. (Knibb even if she’s in “checking the box mode” has sorta gotta be ut oh what is going on)
Yeah I was aware, but not sure it does her any good running like this. Her form is all over the place, looks like me after an Ironman bike (horrible).
