2025 T100 Triathlon World Tour London

Race week is upon us… as always an absolutely STACKED line up (struggling to find a picture of it and dont want to be told off for posting an incomplete line up) not a huge fan of this course as I’ve said in other threads.

Last years results

  1. Laidlow
  2. Smith
  3. Baekkegard

Women’s

  1. Gentle
  2. Simmonds
  3. Matthews

Anyone know the criteria for the wild cards? Hutchens was last (#23) on the wait list document while others are not even there. Does it mean the rest rejected?

Lucy was feeling incredibly confident today. Sounds like she had a great training block, I think she’ll hammer the swim-bike

There’s only 4 or 5 women I can see poduiming at the moment, its hard for me to look past Derron, Knibb, Learmonth, Waugh, LCB just have to work out what order.

I wouldn’t leave Ash out. From my chat this morning she seems to be over the niggles that tormented her all year and is training hard in Andorra for the 3 T100 EU races…

Yes back on her old form she is formidable. But I think it matters now the make up of the front group for her. She showed great swim progress in that race where she hung onto the back, yo yo’ing but still hanging. I think with Lucy and a couple others there all trying to drop Derron now, she probably doesnt get that luxury of leaving T1 with the group. And that sets her up for a very difficult race, chasing the likes of Knibb, Jessica, Lucy, and Waugh.

If she could ride with Derron that could help, but if dropped neither is getting to the front of the race on the bike. And likely she runs some down, but to expect all of those ladies to have a bad run on the same day, well just wishful thinking. T100 races are showing they are becoming automatic in how they are raced, just a few of the names and places change each time. And that’s the part that makes them exciting too, so many on that high level and racing at the front from the gun…

I do hope you are right and we get the Ash that hung on the swim, rode in the pack(overbiking for the win) and then see what her superior run has left in the tank. She really layed her best race out there that day, not afraid to burn mathces to stay in the hunt, like so many of the men do every time…

Yep pretty much what Monty said, but Derron seems to me to have the fastest run and the only one capable of running them all down.

If you’re telling me Gentle has had injury issues then maybe she can run herself onto the poduim (dont see her winning) she obviously does very well on this course, but again unpopular opinion on ST the women’s standard has gone up I reckon.

Links to pro predictions… whats the Sophie Coldwell convo about in the comments?

How technical is the bike course? Will we see the especially adept bike handlers making up time on TK in technical sections?

She said “don’t quote me on this” and they literally just quoted that :joy::joy:

I see Kate Curran has pulled out now. No surprise there at all, I thought it was way too early.

Yes, lots of roundabouts and u-turns.

Yeah she said she struggled with quite a few niggles this year and she’s just been managing them, also because the T100 series is her only focus.

Gentle won by a good few mins here last year, if she’s over these niggles, doesn’t have an off day…if the standards haven’t shot up since the post Olympic ITU take over, we should expect to see Gentle on the podium?

Learmonth is dealing with a calf niggle again (as she was before Singapore) and has not been running.

So you can bet your bottom dollar she’ll blast the swim and bike with the classic vigor that she’s famous for.

is London same location as last year? T1/T2 in that “warehouse” and the bike sorta in seemingly a industrial park? Was it last year that the swim was somehow wetsuit legal but Laidlow went without?

She really is the perfect domestic for Knibb, healthy running or not. Lucy really needs to be able to up her power about 10 watts so that she can then risk it for the biscuit. As it stands now Knibbs power is just too far out of touch for her. But watch out when she finally closes that gap…
