He’s not having a lot of luck this year, Olympics excepted.

Same shoulder as last time too. Getting doored is a source of paranoia for me when I’m in urban areas, and I always try to impress upon my son when we’re out that passing a line of parked cars is one of the sketchiest situations he’ll encounter.

Pidcock’s exist from Ineos now official. It’s been an interesting saga, and for a while looked like it was over, but here we are. I guess he insists on MTB and Ineos wanted him 100% committed to road. We’re all assuming it’s Q36.5 he’s going to, right? No official word on that yet.

I can confirm, from the days I rode my bike around Philly, sometimes with messengers

A row of cars, in front of a hotel, with a SEPTA bus coming up behind? Oh fuck

…and Ineos and Pidcock have agreed to part ways. Will it actually stick for good this time?

I wanted to start a new thread that was just titled: Pidcock.

So much Tom drama, I almost would join that thread.

He’s a handful. It was clear Cummings wanted to slap him.

So now Ineos is left with no Pidcock and no Cummings…

And no hand on the tiller. Like sending 18-yo WT rookie AJ August to Roubaix.

One of the most idiotic things in a while. WT rookie and a rider distinctly not suited for Roubaix. There’s no experiences to be had there for him, just a potential for injury.

I’ve heard him use it a few times. Back in the mid 90’s he was my team manager and on one occasion we imploded during a team pursuit match. After the race Boardman was taking the piss out of us asking if we’d forgotten our cell phones and couldn’t call the rider at the front to let them know we were getting dropped. I think that evening Ant was “not impressed”!

When the weather is too rough for CX, it’s got to be pretty rough. (Sardinia World Cup cancelled due to wind).

Far out, not sure if any of you saw the UCI Track League from Saturday, but that was a horrible crash. I hope Katy Marchant and the spectators are okay. The one from last week was massive with a heap of riders going down, but I never like seeing when riders go over the barriers into the spectators. Splinters hurt, but at least you can slide. Seating just stops you dead.

Apparently the spectators only suffered minor injuries and were all discharged that night, and Katy Marchant suffered a broken arm and a few dislocated fingers, so hopefully should be okay. Horrible crash.

That looks like how driving across southern Wyoming in an RV last week felt.

The whole family was watching that with me and my 7 year old was all “rewind that so we can see it again” and it was a hard no from me. Honestly I wasn’t sure we hadn’t just watched someone die. All things considered, the outcome could have been much much worse.

Yup, I felt exactly the same. I was very relieved that it looks like, in the grand scheme of things, everyone is okay.

There could probably be case made that kids today are desensitized to actual violence or injury, but not here, in this thread

That’s a LR discussion

Very welcome news today. Don Lefevere is stepping down as CEO of QS at the end of the year! Hopefully this doesn’t mean he uses the rest of his free time to continuing disparaging women’s cycling, his own riders, his rider’s wives, etc in the media going forward.

Curious to see what direction that team goes next year, particularly do they fight to keep remco or do they return to the classics?
