Anyone care to share?
- Bike Split
- Avg/Normalized Power
- Height/Weight
- Had you ridden the course before?
Much Thanks!

Much Thanks!
I’ll share despite having crappy numbers.
I made sure that I was coasting down every hill to recover which really dropped my numbers.
164 ave/194 normalized
6’2"/170
Had not ridden the course
Rode 113.2 miles in 5:52
Lot to improve on in the future!
I haven’t had the heart to download it yet. The last few years I rode IMWISC in about 6:30. Had some issues this year and rode 7:45 and ended up taking a dnf in T2. It was humbling having people around me talking about the cut-off time late in the ride.

The hills and cracked pavement took their toll - but I had not put in big miles leading up to the race and was expecting to race at 170/190,
like the earlier post said, there is a good amount of coasting. I had a VI of 1.17 which is one of my highest ever, even on training rides here in the
Rockies. I raced at Eagleman on a flat course with 1.02 VI two months ago, I’d like to see other VI figures - did anybody manage less than 1.1?
.
Lousey numbers but.

Bump - thanks to all for sharing. This really helps!

4.rode 4 total loops this summer
Other: Speed Concept 9.9 w/ Zipp Super 9, 808 FC, Zipp Tubulars
Run: 3:26

I had targeted 210 as my NP goal but HR would get too high when I upped the wattage. My VI was 1.09 and my IF was .69, so I could/should have rode it “smarter”.
I think you should also be asking what kind of runs everyone had; “no such thing as a good ride followed by a bad run”.
I ran a 3:28 and was very happy that I dialed the bike back a bit…
Thanks!

5:22, AP 234 NP 242, 185 lbs @ 6’1. Rode once before in 2009 @ 5:43. I can only imagine how nice this course would be at 150 lbs
Or with a better aero position

Many times, including the 2007 (5:48) and 2009 (5:42) races…
Thanks again to all.
One last bump for the weekend crowd.
Time 5:50
AP 161
NP 184
VI 1.15

Was not a good ride for me. From halfs I have done this year was expecting power to be in the 190s
Very similar numbers to what I put up… A couple points
There was a lot of coasting opportunities on the backside of the rollers. Zeros make for low AP and high VI
The way to judge your ride is by how you ran.

Interesting stuff. But what is VI and IF?
Good ( for an non swimmer like me at least) that Mac Brown took third place with a 1.02 swim. Taht cannot be common these days. anyone who has any insight in this guy?

VI is a measure of the variability of power applied during the ride. It is computed by dividing normalized power of the ride by average power. IF or intensity factor is the decimal portion of ones FTP that they rode on average for the ride. It’s based on their normalized power. For example if you averaged 200 watts nP and your FTP is 300 watts then your IF for the ride would be .66.
Hope that helps
