Now that I’m reaching the point in the training season that my long bike sessions are 5-6 hours I’m getting complaints from the boys that I need to find more comforatble underwear. The chamois butter is already there. So what are you guys wearing??
Go commando. Cycling shorts are made for it.

The stuff is designed that way for a purpose. Respect the design!

Jars, Jars, … jars… Nothing should come between your boys and the cycling shorts. NOTHING. That is of course if you are wearing proper cycling shorts. Now if you are wearing some beach shorts and those loose and long walking shorts or a simple tight spandex shorts without chamois then the first thing you should do after reading this email is go to the biggest baddest bike shop nearby and get yourself a nice padded geniune cycling shorts.
To reiterate everyone’s point here. Don’t wear underwear whenever you ride your bike.

Commando all the way… Even with running shorts as long as they have “built in” underwear.
I like this sport… I dont have to change my underwear 2-3x a day just because of a training session…
It’s all starting to make sense to me now. Let me make sure I’m clear on the protocal:
- No underwear
- No sox

Funny you asked, I looked at all the on line bike stores and no ne listed underwear. That should have been my first clue. Cant wait to get on the bike after work to test out my new found freedom.
