They are. If you see one very much after dawn or before dusk, it’s probably rabid. They forget all about being nocturnal when rabies gets hold. Things get weird, even for a raccoon.

Not guaranteed to be rabid that time of day, but better safe than sorry.

If the raccoon is rabid, after a couple days, they will start staggering around in the daytime as if drunk. As the end approaches, they will start staggering in a big circle that gradually spirals smaller and smaller. When they get to the middle, the end is near.
Best to call animal control. If you don’t have animal control, use a firearm. (I’m serious.) A rabid raccoon can do a lot of damage to a person and they will enjoy doing it. They’re like miniature werewolves!

With 3, it’s easy - there’s the racer, the donor car, and the project.

Other day I saw a helicopter landing on top of a big truck rig. Helicopter was filling up to apply more pesticides to the crops around me. Wasn’t a fan of breathing all of that in.
I was really wondering if I should ride under the helo/rig since the rotors were going. Lucky the pilot took off before I got to it.

They repaved the road that runs past it, and I made a point of riding by yesterday

Saw a “jumper†this past Sunday morning.
Was running my usual route, and came across a road block. Police and firefighters everywhere. Took me a while to figure out what’s going on. A dude was standing on the outside of a balcony railing on the 4th floor. They did have a “bouncy castle†landing deployed for him, and by the looks of it he would need some serious push-off to go past that in either direction.
Came back an hour later and he was still there. Not sure what was going on in his life - hope he is ok.
I saw a dog walking a dog on my ride today. Does this count? I also saw a pirate ship full of pirates. (Seafair pirates for the locals.) On the same ride also saw a barge floating down a lake, with a small helicopter on it black R22. Had to look three times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. Then pushing 400W up a hill and going very fast myself, had a young guy in local team kit pass me as if I were standing still. Never seen such a thing except on TV. Nope it wasn’t E-bike. This guy was just really good.
Then had a raven waiting for peanuts by my house and it would not move away when I rode by. That was non-standard. They are usually shy.
So yeah. Eventful ride.

I was running through a forest preserve near my house, I come around the corner and 15 feet off the trail is a nude woman sitting on a log with her back to me. There was a man in front of her with a big ass camera taking “nature shots”.
