I presume the design there is at least a nod to fuel efficiency and increasing visibility for the type of driving the USPS typically does. Found an AP article on them - wow, the old trucks are pretty rough across the board (9mpg, no AC, bad visibility).

Yep. Basically a rebody of a first generation S-10 with an iron duke. Not a great car in 1983, a really awful car in 2023

I had an AMC Gremlin, can’t remember if it was a 73 or 74, and it was definitely better looking than the Pacer.

That’s hard to argue with. My girlfriend in high school had an AMC Gremlin that looked way better than the Pacer.

Amen brother. Plus the name Gremlin is kind of cool. Pacer even sounds dumb. Of course, being in my mid-50’s now, I’d proudly drive that Pacer through the neighborhood, drawing all the attention I could to it.
