Nacer Boo-Hoo-Hanni remains my all time.
Oier Como Va should be on the greatest hits list.
Speaking of De Tank, a nice interview with him: https://velo.outsideonline.com/road/road-racing/vuelta-a-espana/time-running-out-for-thomas-de-gendt-and-his-dream-breakaway-win-at-vuelta-a-espana/
Thank you! I feel like a one-hit wonder because while you and McNulty have like 3 compilation and live albums by this point, Iām the Baha Men with Who Let the Dogs Out?" Oier is all Iāve got.
I think you came up with Zusstanza as well. Still cracks me up.
LFF is a Likes Bikes ( the artist formerly known as T Burgler) creation which made me laugh like hell way back, the timing of it was beautiful.
Iām going to flip through the peloton and see if I can get a master list put together. Itās an important body of work.
Given his proclivity toward getting himself entangled in all sorts of controversies, Iād think that Brou-ha-hanni is more appropriate for the agent of chaos he is.
OK, so I started a Nickname thread for nothing - I get it LOL
as a middle school teacher - i dabble in nicknames A LOT, just not on the level of the wonder kids here. I see my role as a bottle carrier, doing the long (boring?) set up yards on the front before the bigger dogs take over. Heck - Iāll even drop back for a leaderās climbing bike change but Iād want a bigger part of the team car draft (whatās a time penalty to me!?!). 3 days to shake out the final gc - the Paz looks frisky - kind of like the proverbial plumber I expect Paz to expose a few cracks.
I think the non stop action will eventually take Ben OC off the podium. Iām going break for the win today - Shredding the Gnar-vaez for the win // Mas to lead the Paz and Rog to gc gains. Saturday is hellacious - but Iāll pick final podium: Rog/Paz/Mas with (peanut butter n) Skjelly for white.
wanting great weather for saturdayās up n down / my own DeGendt favorites are his '20 TdF stage win over pinot, ala - and all his Andorra KOMs from a late Vuelta stage early break ('18, Yatesās win?) when I was scouting routes there last year.
Not that he is in the breakaway right now, but as a general comment every time I see Jeune Vino in a breakaway formation I wonder if he is making deals like papa.
I also have to say chapeau to Vlasov. He has been an awesome teammate this year.
Everyone in the field: Wow, I found my breaking point today
Primoz: Oh hey, my back is finally feeing better!
The Vuelta has so many spiky climbs that maybe no one (except Ferris, Vinge, Remco?) can be good on all of them. I didnāt expect Rog to produce the Ancares level today. Impressive. It sure looks like Rog can suffer through a mediocre day at the level of Mas and Paz. He does seem to have a team that can provide a lot of support on a ridiculously tough stage tomorrow.
a safe prediction - Paz will attack (likely early and often).
100% has Paz ambush written all over it. And we saw significant signs of life out of Waiting For and Skjelmose, and they might also be up for the high risk/high reward strategy to try to move into the top 3. It could easily turn into a straight brawl pretty early in the day.
+1. El Jaguar has a high likelihood of striking out for an attack.
Ben O had a great ride. All he could do and he did that.
the only dude who might be a safe bet to attack before the Paz - marc soler flare (itās better to burn out, than to fade away). does he need points to secure da dots?
If team uae (vine/raging del/soler/maybe yates?/ maybe siv?) is up there with the Paz - that could be formidable to pull back.
is tomorrow sunshine? please.
iām a bit of a Skjelly fan boy - so not impartial - but Iād sure like to see him take some swings. I think trek has some tough dudes who could pull a long time in a break. I also get it if racing C-rod (and Lipo) for white is enough of a goal.
Iād like to see Skjelly roll.
Groanā¦
I forgot to ask - how did Jay āGrapeā Vine crash??? I joined the show just as they were taping him up
When you got bandages on both elbow, plus a torn up hip, that indicates a tuck & roll, from my experience as a skateboarder, anyway
I still remember the phrase from when you crashed skating a pool āhipper in the drainā
Tomorrow I see the Paz raiding or more likely, a Yates and Dunbar raid. Eddie is strong and because of his position I see him getting allowed into a break others wonāt have a chance at.
Skjelly Donut.
