The Random Comment or picture Thread

Sometimes I have random thoughts or see a funny meme/photo that doesn’t really warrant a thread of its own. So, I thought I would start one for others that want to post something random. Feel free to use this one for whatever comes to your mind.

I’ll start. My wife has no sense of humor. She wanted to pick some blackberries to make a crisp, but couldn’t get into some of them because it was so thick. So I put a plastic/resin pallet on the fork-lifts of my tractor for her to sit on. That way I could lift her up above the brambles and move her in close enough to pick them. It worked, but she flipped me off when I said “It is a shame that I have to use a fork-lift to pick up my wife”. I thought it was hilarious and she didn’t even crack a smile.

Good idea to start a random topic thread. I’ve occasionally opted to not start a thread if I didn’t know if it was “tread worthy”.

And you were correct, that was hilarious!

My 9yo is doing a triathlon this weekend. I’ve been taking him swimming and he bikes/runs all the time (as an active kid - not “training”).

Very curious to see how it goes. Also - short kid races have much more reasonable start times.

People in the Netherlands bike everywhere. All ages. All weather conditions. They have bike paths everywhere. They seem to have sorted out the culture on how bikes interact with cars and pedestrians. No one wears helmets. They have bike garages for public storage, sometimes holding thousands of bikes. They look like an underground lot at a US mall, except it’s all bikes and no cars. Kinda cool.

I created this with a random thought recently. It’s dumb but I kinda like it

We have a day in Rotterdam on our vacation this year. Going to see the windmills and happy to learn there is bike rental nearby.

We’re also doing 1/2 day bike tours in London and Norway. I’m psyched!

Always watching.

Do you love your pet bull enough to modify your car to carry him around?

today I learned (I guess) that the possessive plural of mice is mice’s.

It just looked really wrong in the sentence I was writing.

I had a nightmare last night. Before I woke up, I was aware that I was dreaming, and was trying to wake myself up. I felt like it was trapped under sand or something and my mouth was sealed shut so I couldn’t breathe or shout. But I knew it was a dream, and the harder I fought and tried to yell or get up, the more suffocated I felt, like I was sinking deeper into an abyss of heavy sand.

Finally my wife shook me awake. She said I was shaking violently in bed and trying to make muffled noises through a closed mouth, and when I woke up I gasped for air.

Dreams are so weird. I wonder if there is any meaning to them.

The 9 yo may be a “one and done” for triathlon. He crushed it, but waiting around for your heat to start (pool swim) is boring/tiring.

He raced in the 10/11 age group and some of those kids are BIG. And mine is extra small.

He did say, “at least I can say I’ve done a triathlon now”.

Typical “one and done” IM attitude ;-).

Congrats to your kiddo!

That is pretty dang cool! Nice work outta your kid!!

There is. Clearly in this case it’s your desire to tell your wife that you dress up in her clothing when she’s out shopping. You really want to tell her about it but just can’t bring yourself to do it. That is where the feeling of suffocation comes from. It’s ok to be you. Just tell her.

I’ll let you have that first interpretation on the house.

NGL - that was my first thought.

At least he didn’t ask to get an M dot tattoo after finishing.

the wait is very boring and can be anxiety provoking. Good on him for trying it!

Thankfully he seems to be much more chill about waiting than his brother and I are. Happy he was spared being passed that trait.
