I’m a graphic designer…I want to take that excellent article by Tom Demerly that captured our vibe and create something for us all…
Here’s the design - T-Shirt front (on the left) and the back.
The image I’ve used is kind of a tribal drawing of man…then there’s the three finger-like protrusions which count the three sports: swim, bike, run…and then there’s the heart a symbol of peace. The figure is also dynamic and seems in motion…plus is a bit wacky…could it be more perfect!!! The symbol is actually a character from a Mac font so I didn’t draw it…I don’t want to take credit away.
The idea could be that we sell it to the forum members with all proceeds going to a charity…I’ll donate the design of course, for free, needless to say…all we need is to find someone to produce them…as I said the production costs can be taken up by the price for the T-Shirt plus a bit extra for the charity.
We’d need a physical base for delivery and posting of them so perhaps Bikesport or Xantusia would be cool with that…i.e. Tom or Dan…you’d have to agree amongst yourselves.
Conclusion: all for charity and a chance for a physical identity…
there is obviously room for logos…Bikesport, Slowtwitch or anyone else that would like to sponsor it?..
…but I must insist on the charity thing…the Lance Armstrong Foundation could be an idea…though I’d like to do something more children focused and worldwide aimed…
…dunno…in the UK there’s a good one - the NSPCC (the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) which has some amazing ads on TV…
Fire away with ideas…this is about all of us so…it’s not for me to decide only…
If it were to be the LAF in the end then we could change the red for yellow…it would work well too…
Swim, Bike, Run, Click… I like that, yes, let’s use that. If the NSPCC is decided as the recipient of the profits I would be happy to look into/deliver any information that is needed, and yes if LAF is the nominee yellow on black would work equally well.
I think we are the only one from the East of the Atlantic, Richard is from Quebec and Tri Bri from Virginia, maybe they are just insomniacs!
…yes, sounds good…a third-world country is in the vibe…we’re all in synch on this…still waiting on what Tom Demerly and Slowman feel about this though…perhaps we could produce 500 shirts???
Awesome idea and design. Only suggestion I might pose is to make the front logo smaller like trhe one on the back and then off to one side. Then make the one on the back larger. But then again what do I know.

…yeah, know what you mean…it’s obviously another option - though perhaps more like a surfer T-shirt so perhaps I would stick more to what we have already???..still, ideas are ideas, we’ll settle detailing when we have universal agreement on this. As I said…it’s not about me…it’s about us…

How about Unicef…anyone linked to them or know anyone in there at all…it would be cool if we could have their logo on the T-Shirt too.
Fabulous. European medium please. I’m in Borneo, even further out of the way, but that is the way of the peaceful tribe. We cover the world, and yet we are all together here.
Okay, here’s a tweak…the heart looks better now?..and we have ‘swim, bike, run, click’?
The only ‘problem’ I see with this is the distribution…we need to send them off from a place that has great postal rates…and Gibraltar is not one of them…I dare say USPS is more competitive than Royal Mail (UK) as well…
Anyway…we still need an okay from the slowtwitch.com and Tom Demerly, the intellectual rights for this are theirs!!!
