The Lance Haters

There are plenty more out there who no matter the subject matter, seem to vent their hatred for Lance. Who else you got?

Ryu
Ken
E. Honda
Chun-Li
Blanka
Zangief

Should I start my thread with ‘The morons’ and your name on top?
I certainly don’t hate Lance. I think he doped. And constantly add that I think that’s the case for the entire peloton, and that he would have won 7 regardless. I just don’t want to buy the BS that he did that all clean while everyone else was doping and won year after year by 10min for 7 years straight…
If you think that’s being a hater, leave me there on the list.

I’m not a Lance hater but I agree with Francois. I think it’s laughable to even remotely consider that someone whose career began during cycling’s doping heyday did not dope. I have simply resigned myself to the fact that they all doped back then, and probably still do. There are still performance enhancers for which no test exists. I think the use of performance enhancers is a part of professional sports. Always has been, always will be. That being said, I admire LA for his tenacity on the bike. The determination and singular focus he possesses on the bike is incredible. Off the bike, though, I have some issues with him. But I’m not a hater.

You can’t help it…

A little set theory.

ALL French hate Lance.

You are (Half) French.

Therefore you hate Lance.

QED.

You are using the modus ponens…it’s propositional logic, not set theory :stuck_out_tongue:
.

Ahhhhhhhh

All men are mortal

Lance is a man

Therefore Lance must be mortal

What if All mortals have to dope to win
Lance did not dope
Lance won 7 times
Lance must be imortal BS
.

You make it sound as if modus ponens was an invalid argument form. Anyway, since Boolean algebra (which is a form of propositional logic) is isomorphic to elementary set theory, that’s close enough for me!

Not sure what this has to do with Lance, though. Darn, I tuned into this thread hoping to find out the latest on his injury…

I don’t hate him I just wish he and the rest of pro cycling would come clean about doping.

In which case, the statement would be
The set of French is a subset of the set of Lance haters
I’m French, hence an element of the Lance haters.

Obviously. The flaw in the argument, as you know, is that Lance also has devotees in France.

Do you think he’ll still make it to the Tour?

I am a big fan of Lance, but have to agree with everything you said. If that’s the criteria for being a Lance hater I guess I have to be on the list as well :(. sigh

Can you please add me to that list?

Lance is a streetsmart, entertaining prick. I’m a lover not a hater!

Should I start my thread with ‘The morons’ and your name on top?

The proper thread would be “Gay for Lance”

“I don’t hate him I just wish he and the rest of pro cycling would come clean about doping.”

Ramen.

I’m with Robert. I think he doped, but I think everybody doped. Bigger to me is that I became convinced over the course of 7 Tours that the guy is just kind of a paranoid, egomaniacal jerk. The kicker to me was that he was completely unable to acknowledge that Ullrich (et al) waited for him in 2003 after he went down on the Luz Ardiden stage. That’s the reason I don’t root for him. I also think he was knee-deep in enforcing the culture of silence in the peleton (see Simeoni). Now I respect everything he does to bring awareness to cancer research and think he has done a lot of good in the World, but that doesn’t mean I have to be a fan. But I’m not happy he’s injured; I think it detracts from the interest of the sport.

What cracks me up are the Lance fellators on this site that can’t stand the idea that somebody might not adore their hero the way they do.

Even Spiderman doped…everyone knows that.

Its not paranoia when they really are out to get ya though! haha

Because he has encouraged silence on doping in the sport when he was in a position to help fix it. Read the thread!

Why would any of you ‘hate’ Lance Armstrong? It seems to me like he has done alot to promote our sport and since I’ve personally never met him how can I ‘hate’ him…and as far as I know he hasn’t been part of any atrocities that would ignite such strong feelings against him. Like him or not, I think there is enough hate in the world without adding it to the cycling world.
