The Bikes of the Top 15 Fastest Pro Men at the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship

I can explain “the challenges” with that, here or there

I was more thinking if once you’ve done your ‘proper’ aero testing there was value in this helping keep in the identified optimum position. Rather than actually this being an ‘aero sensor’.

yes. Absolutely.

We use an aero sensor on the bike. But there are also “remote” sensors that can be used to measure other body movements/positions. The data is sent back to the aero sensor to be merged with other data. For example there is one that goes in the helmet. We know what the positions was when tested/optimized vs what it is at any time. They can be used in training to “learn” what the optimal position feels like

Corrections:

  1. Sam Laidlow’s front BTA bottle holders aren’t Gorilla cages, but Canyon Carbon Bottle Cages.
  2. Jonas Schomburg rode 2x, not 1x.
  3. Jamie Riddle’s front wheel isn’t 99mm deep, but rather 77mm deep.
  4. Kristian Hogenhaug has a Gorilla cage BTA, not Canyon.
  5. Kristian Hogenhaug’s front wheel is 80mm (previous generation with 20mm internal width), not 85mm (new generation with 22mm internal width)
  6. Sam Long’s front wheel isn’t 85mm deep, but 65mm deep.
  7. Nathan Guerbeur’s BTS bottle cage isn’t unbranded, it’s the standard Profile Design RM10 setup.

A watt is not a watt ..
They say Martin’s power meter reads very low

A closer look at Laidlow’s bike. What I found most interesting, his wheels were balanced!
